As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Stephen Grillo believes that everyone can benefit from counseling. Recognizing a challenge is the first step to overcoming it. The counseling process can be challenging and painful at times for it involves discussing difficult topics that lead to making personal changes. Steve works closely with clients ages 18 and older to find solutions that best meet their needs and goals. Ultimately it is up to the client to use what is learned from this process to make those changes.

Steve employs a combination of person-centered and existential therapy while including cognitive-behavioral mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) techniques to motivate change.  He strongly believes in the power of the natural environment to affect human emotion and perception in a positive and potentially healing way. Walking in a park with his clients is a beneficial way to enhance the therapeutic relationship.

He is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and works with people struggling with addictions and substance abuse. Other areas of specialty include adjustment disorders, anxiety, bereavement, bipolar disorder, depression, issues involving divorce and the blended family, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Services provided by other counselors are couples work and Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
